*addendum: growing anger at this app. If you are a bitcoin miner, then use something else. Slushpool and others require a signature from your wallet. Several wallets do this- not BitPay
Buyers beware, BitPay is convenient and very easy to use. Personally, my favorite thing about BitPay is that it is on iOS (ipad too!), macOS, and has a card that is easy to use in physical stores. Note that very VERY few online stores accept the card even though it is through Visa. Also, note that once you move your BTC to the card its stuck and cant be transferred off the card. Honestly, the card is a bit more like a prepaid gift card and not so much a debit card (i.e. The latter being accepted almost anywhere).
The best: the current trend is towards cloud based software, which is terrible in that, for example, on OS X one has to use google chrome to actually run many apps. BitPay is a great step away from that trend. As a former coinbase customer I was amazed by how dependable the wallet is in all regards, especially related to the pain of coinbase.
The worst:
1) the fees. Its extremely expensive to actually use your money in this wallet, and plan ahead for at least 2 - 5 dollars more than your purchase before it will allow you to send the BTC. Im moving away from using it because its just too expensive.
2) its connected with coinbase and glidera. Both are awful and incredibly frustrating but coinbase is by far the worst. My coinbase account wont accept deposits because a $0 transaction (you read that correctly) wont complete.
If you want dependable and efficient use this wallet, but if you are buying selling less than 100, its too expensive. Its like paying first class shipping on your money...
